Remy Choo Zheng Xi is an openly gay trial and appellate lawyer with experience leading cases at all levels of the Singapore Courts, including the Court of Appeal. He is the founder and Joint Managing Director of his own legal practice, RCL Chambers LLC. Choo was one of the lawyers instrumental in leading the repeal of S377A by bringing two constitutional challenges to S377A over the course of nearly a decade. He is also known for his public advocacy for repeal, speaking about repeal at the annual Pink Dot rally in 2021 and 2022.

In 2016, Choo was the first Singaporean lawyer to be named the International Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year in 2016, an award that recognizes “excellence in work and achievements and a commitment to professional and ethical standards“. In 2023, Choo was awarded APCOM Foundation's Shivananda Khan award for Extraordinary Achievement.

Choo is regularly ranked in legal and professional journals since he was named by Singapore Business Review 2015’s “40 most influential lawyers aged 40 and under in 2015” . In 2023, his (then) 1 year old firm was cited by the Straits Times as one of Singapore's Best Law Firms. He was described as “having built a profile as one of the most recognizable faces of public interest, media and employment litigation in Singapore… “. He acts for heavyweight clients both locally and globally, including international media and manpower companies.

Internationally, Choo is the Vice-Chairman of the International Bar Association's LGBTQI+ Committee.
