LoveSingapore is a Christian unity movement that was started in 1995 by a group of pastors and ministry leaders, including Lawrence Khong of Faith Commmunity Baptist Church (FCBC), who shared a common vision for Singapore.

The movement is motivated by love, fuelled by prayer, and inspired by a common vision1. Some of the activities and initiatives of LoveSingapore are:

  • The Prayer Summit, which brings together pastors and ministry leaders from different churches and denominations to pray for Singapore.
  • The 40.Day Prayer Season, which engages believers from all walks of life in prayer for the nation from July 1 to August 9 every year.
  • The Day of His Power, which is a citywide concert of prayer to conclude the 40.Day season, in conjunction with National Day.
  • Love East Timor and LoveJapan, which are missional calls to bring holistic transformation to Timor-Leste and Japan, respectively.
  • Turning Singapore Godward, Winning the Youth, and Blessing the Nations, which are the three strategic priorities for LoveSingapore as articulated by its current Chairman, Pastor Jeff Chong.

LoveSingapore aims to glorify God through a life changed, a church revived, a nation transformed, and a world evangelised1. It is a network of churches that are passionate about interceding for Singapore and reaching out to the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

There are over 150 churches in this movement united in prayer for Singapore. Other major churches involved include Victory Family Centre and Covenant Evangelical Free Church.

LoveSingapore has been involved in opposing LGBT rights. Among its activities in this respect were:

  • Organising the Wear White campaign, which was a response to the annual Pink Dot event that supports the LGBT community in Singapore. The Wear White campaign encouraged people to wear white clothes on the first day of Ramadan to show their support for traditional family values and their opposition to homosexuality.
  • Supporting the retention of Section 377A, which was a law that criminalised sex between men in Singapore. LoveSingapore issued a statement in 2018 urging the government to keep the law, saying that it was "a moral anchor" and "a protective guardrail" for society. However, the law was repealed by the government in 2022, following years of public debate and legal challenges .
  • Opposing same-sex marriage and adoption rights for LGBT couples. LoveSingapore's Chairman, Pastor Jeff Chong, said in 2020 that same-sex marriage would "undermine the institution of marriage" and "harm children". He also said that LoveSingapore would continue to pray and advocate for "God’s design for marriage and family".
