Ng King Kang (吴庆康) is a renowned personality in the Singapore media industry. He has a PhD from Deakin University in Melbourne and is an accomplished journalist, writer and song composer. To date, he has recorded 4 albums and written hundreds of Mandarin songs for Asian pop artistes. Dr Ng is the author of over 10 books, including Feel Singapore 《感觉新加坡》, the first bilingual book about Singapore published in 2003.

Ng has donated his invaluable collection of children’s literature to the National Library, comprising mostly various issues of Nanyang Ertong 《南洋儿童》(“Nanyang Children”), a popular children’s comic periodical during the 1960s and 1970s. Published in Hong Kong, it was distributed in Singapore by Chung Hwa Book Company 《中华书局. 》. Other titles found in the collection include booklets of children’s plays/sketches as well as short stories.
