The Singapore Film Commission (SFC) is part of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and is charged with developing Singapore's film industry and nurturing film talent. It is advised by a committee comprising members from the film, arts and cultural community. Since 1998, the SFC has supported more than 800 short films, scripts, feature films, as well as film-related events in Singapore that showcase homegrown talent and works.
To propel Singapore's film industry towards the next stage of growth, the SFC intends to focus on 3 strategic thrusts:

Overview[]
Singapore’s potential for developing exportable media content is supported by its rich cultural backdrop, inspiring creative output with international appeal. Attesting to this is Singapore’s growing success in the worldwide film industry, with films like A Land Imagined, Pop Aye, Apprentice and A Yellow Bird receiving accolades at acclaimed film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, Locarno International Film Festival, and Sundance Film Festival.
Expanding collaborative efforts between local and international film companies have united resources from co-producing countries, enabling Singapore filmmakers to participate in projects of international standing. International film production and service companies like Lucasfilm have also set up locally to harness our creative expertise and talents.

The SFC nurtures high potential talent and collaboration of top talent in Southeast Asia for a strong brand of "Made-with-Singapore" content that would be recognized locally, internationally, and raise the profile of Singapore's media sector.
Call-for-proposals for Production Assistance (Film) and the New Talent Feature Grant (NTFG) are twice a year, while the Southeast Asia Co-Production Grant (SCPG) and the Short Film Grant (SFG) are once a year. More information is available here: 2020 Call-for-Proposals.

Production Assistance (Film)[]
Production Assistance (Film) supports the production of feature films that engage Singapore talent in quality credited roles, and emphasizes the creation and ownership of IP by Singapore companies.
New Talent Feature Grant[]
The New Talent Feature Grant (NTFG) encourages first and second-time directors to launch their careers in filmmaking by helping them make films for different platforms, including cinemas, film festivals, broadcast, video-on-demand, or online platforms.
Southeast Asia Co-Production Grant[]
The Southeast Asia Co-Production Grant (SCPG) encourages film talent in Singapore and the Southeast Asian region to jointly produce quality stories for the world.
Short Film Grant[]
The Singapore Film Commission supports the development and production of short films to encourage budding filmmakers to hone their skills and get a head-start in embarking on their feature film careers. The Short Film Grant (SFG) provides funding for short films that are digitally made and distributed.
Overseas Participation Grant[]
The Overseas Participation Grant (OPG) supports media professionals who have been selected for international programmes and platforms that are designed to develop their skills and projects, and build up their international connections and perspectives.
